    Hope

hope that no matter what difficulties arise in family, health, or finances, a family can survive it and get to the other side. 'How' is not just one response, rather it's an evolving idea. Solutions present themselves as you go along the path. As you seek the thing it is you want to achieve, so will an idea come to you. I do not attribute it to a god or a religion, though I may have one or both of those. This is life. Hope. Live with me,...

    "Winners Never Quit"

Tomorrow IS an important day. Tomorrow, along with a lot of others across the world, I have the opportunity to impact a community in need. I have the privledge to help the Sportsgrant Foundations' charity Fight Gone Bad 6 through my CrossFit Box. FGB is picked up among many CrossFit Boxes as a 17 minute workout challenge on September 17th, 2011. Athletes who register are asked to raise as much money as possible to benefit 3 different 2011 foundations: Camp Patriot, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, and CrossFit Kids Foundation. Obviously, all three are close to my heart. In addition to these beneficiaries, because of the recent CH 47 Chinook crash and the sad loss of 31 fine men, FGB gave their word to fund the college education of all 21 kids who lost their fathers. 100%. These children need us, I do know that.

Imagine my reaction when I overheard someone say about this event, and I paraphrase, "It's not that important, nobody cares. It may be a big deal to you but to everyone else, not so much. Nobody is paying attention."

Yes. People are paying attention. The child who is sitting in grief at home is paying attention. The wives who are trying to figure out how to live again are paying attention. The U.S. Armed Forces special operations community are paying attention. Disabled U.S. veterans are paying attention. Families with children are paying attention. I came to this box because they were paying attention.

"Winners never quit. 15,000 have people registered and 8,000 people have raised $1.5 million with two days to go." Sounds like a lot of other people understand why we are doing this. And they are paying attention.

You can too. Donations are accepted through Sunday September 18. Volunteers can be helpful across the country by finding your local CrossFit's FGB6 event. Everything matters.
